6 Cows On Roadway

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment is urging all operators of vehicles to stay alert after police were called to a Thompson Road East, Townsend, Norfolk County, Ontario, address.

On Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at approximately 7:32 a.m., police were contacted by a concerned motorist after locating 6 cows walking in the middle of the roadway.

Through investigation it was determined that the animals had managed to make their way to the roadway from an area farm A motorist that was travelling on Cockshutt Road between Thompson Road East and Mclaren Street immediately contacted police due to almost hitting the animals.

The animals were subsequently removed from the roadway and returned to their rightful owner.

“Police are reminding all motor vehicle operators to pay attention to their driving abilities and to be aware of your surroundings at all times. Predictable is preventable, make safety your priority” comments Constable Ed Sanchuk, Norfolk County OPP.
