(SAUGEEN FIRST NATION, ON) –On February 13, 2016, at 9:59 p.m., the Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was patrolling in the area of French Bay Road, Saugeen First Nation when they stopped a southbound 1987 Chevrolet pick-up truck. Police found the driver had been drinking alcohol.
Edwin NAWASH, age 56, of Saugeen First Nation was charged with Impaired Operation of Motor Vehicle and Over 80 milligrams of alcohol in his system. The vehicle has been impounded and his driver’s licence has been suspended.
He is scheduled to appear before the court on March 17, 2016 to answer to the charges.
A 36-year-old male passenger, from Saugeen First Nation, was also charged with Having Liquor in an Open Container, contrary to the Liquor Licence Act (LLA).
