(TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH, ON) – On January 3, 2018 Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) began an investigation on Sideroad 3 East, Township of Wellington North in regards to a complaint received.
The investigation led officers to believe a male party was in possession of firearms without the proper licencing. Further investigation and a search warrant resulted in OPP seizing three firearms, recovering two stolen motor vehicles and seizing a quantity of marihuana.
53-year-old John CHANTZOPOULS of Wellington North has been charged with the following:
Assault with a Weapon
Utter threats to cause death
Unauthorized possession of a firearm x 3
Possession of Marihuana over 30 grams
Careless storage of a firearm x 3
Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
He was held for bail.
