$50,000 Drug Bust In Owen Sound

The Owen Sound Police Service Drug Unit and the Ontario Provincial Police-Grey Bruce Community Street Crime Unit, made arrests and seized a substantial amount of cash, street drugs and a motor vehicle in an ongoing narcotics trafficking investigation in Owen Sound.

At 10:00 pm, on October 31, detectives arrested a man and woman in the driveway of a residence on 3rd Avenue East, and found them in possession of a significant amount of powdered fentanyl, crystal meth, heroin and cash.

In the early hours of November 1, police executed a search warrant at the residence on 3rd Avenue East, and seized evidence of drug trafficking including scales and cash. The combined street value of the drug seizure, cash and offence related property is in excess of fifty-thousand dollars ($50,000.00)

Michael Bemister of Owen Sound and Jessica Claridge of Northern Bruce Peninsula are charged with:

Possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl

Possession for the purpose of trafficking heroin

Possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine

Bemister is additionally charged with two counts of Breach of probation and one count of Possession of proceeds of crime. Claridge is additionally charged with two counts of Failing to comply with recognizance.

Both were held for bail in relation to these allegations and appeared in court today.
