(WIARTON, ON) – On July 25, 2017 at 4:09 p.m., Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were called to a disturbance at a waterfront property located on Frank Street, in the Town of Wiarton.
Police investigation revealed a 50 year old male was intoxicated and shooting several rounds of ammunition from his residence towards the waters of Georgian Bay. Police attended the property and spoke to the male via telephone. At 4:57 p.m., the male departed the residence and was taken into Police custody. The residence was searched with negative results for any other persons. Two firearms were seized.
The male has been charged with possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose and unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm. He is being held in custody pending a bail hearing for July 26, 2017.
