$4322 Raised For Special Olympics Program

(HURON COUNTY, ON) – An Easter Weekend fundraiser for the Special Olympics Program resulted in some pretty big smiles and buckets full of change to be counted. On Saturday, April 19, 2014 a road toll fundraiser was stationed at the Canadian Tire, Wal-Mart and Zehrs Markets plaza in Goderich. Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers along with Huron County OPP Auxiliary Officers and the Special Olympian Athletes collected a whopping $4322 for the Special Olympics Program.

Funds collected from the road toll will directly support the Special Olympics program.

“The overwhelming support on a continuous basis for the Special Olympics Program is truly amazing. Every year our community whole heartedly demonstrates their generous support for our Special Olympics fundraisers such as the Easter Weekend Road Toll, Bowling for Special Olympics and the Law Enforcement Torch Run. The success of the Special Olympics Program is dependent on community support and we certainly have it here in Huron County”. Russ Nesbitt – Huron County OPP Acting Sergeant and Special Olympics Torch Run Coordinator
