(MUNICIPALITY OF GREY HIGHLANDS, ON) – On Wednesday, July 01, 2015, at approximately 1:35 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was called to a residence on Main Street West, Markdale, in the Municipality of Grey Highlands to assist Grey County Emergency Services (EMS).
While on route to hospital, the victim went into medical distress. The 43-year-old male was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The OPP has notified the province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) which has invoked its mandate. As a result, the OPP will not be able to provide any further information. Any other inquiries should be directed to SIU Communications at (416) 622-2342.
The Grey County OPP is conducting a parallel Criminal Investigation under the direction of Acting Detective Inspector Andy Raffay of the Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB).
