(PUSLINCH TOWNSHIP, ON) – On January 4, 2016 at approximately 11:20 p.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was called to attend a barn fire located at Classy Lane Stables Training Centre on Concession 1, Puslinch Township.
Police provided traffic control while Puslinch Fire and Rescue Services, Guelph-Eramosa Fire Department, Guelph Fire Department, Cambridge Fire Department, and Hamilton Fire Department tended to the fire.
It has been estimated that more than 40 horses have died as a result of the fire. The cause of the fire is being investigated by Puslinch Fire and Rescue Services and the Office of the Ontario Fire Marshall has been contacted.
All roads have been re-opened.
