(MUNICIPALITY OF GREY HIGHLANDS, ON) – As a result of an ongoing investigation, on April 24, 2018, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit Grey-Bruce (CSCU), together with members of Grey County OPP, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant at a residence on Grey Road 31 in the Municipality of Grey Highlands.
As a result of the execution of the search warrant, police seized cannabis marihuana, cannabis resin, cannabis shatter and cocaine for the purpose of trafficking. The estimated combined value of the seized controlled substances was $38,640.00. Police also seized offence-related property including vacuum sealed drying ovens, vacuum pumps, vacuum sealing machines, filters, digital scales, a money counter machine, cell phones and packaging material. The estimated value of the seized offence-related property was $8,000.00. In addition, an undisclosed amount of Canadian currency was seized.
30-year old Michael Carl HUTCHINSON, of the Municipality of Grey Highlands, was arrested and charged with the following offences:
– Possession of Cannabis Marihuana for the Purposes of Trafficking
– Possession of Cannabis Resin for the Purposes of Trafficking
– Produce Schedule II Substance (Cannabis Shatter)
– Possession of Cocaine
– Fail to Comply with Probation Order x 2
A bail hearing was scheduled for April 26, 2018 in Owen Sound.
