(BRIGHTON, ON) –On March 29, 2016 the Northumberland detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a break-in to the Brighton Landfill Site on County Road 26 in the Municipality of Brighton.
Investigators determined that unknown person(s) forcibly entered an office building on the site after gaining entry to the property via a locked gate on Dalwood Road sometime overnight.
Items taken include a USCAN safe weighing 300lbs containing a quantity of cash in numbered Brinks bags, cheques and several hundred Northumberland County ‘garbage bag tags’ displaying serials numbers between #F774001-F775000.
Northumberland OPP is asking for the public’s assistance with this ongoing investigation and would ask that anyone with information on this crime call the Brighton OPP detachment at 613-475-1313 or toll free 1-888-310-1122.
