$300,000 Grow Op Busted

(NIPISSING TWP) On September 20, 2013 the Ontario Provincial Police Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau North Bay Drug Enforcement Unit supported by the Ontario Provincial Police Emergency Response Team and Ontario Provincial Police Canine Unit executed a search warrant at a Nipissing Township property.

As a result of the investigation an indoor and outdoor Cannabis marihuana growing operation was located. 107 cannabis marihuana plants and approximately 20 kilograms of drying cannabis marihuana were seized during the investigation. Also seized were offence related property and two firearms. Four individuals were arrested and charged. All four individuals were released on a Promise to Appear and scheduled to attend court in North Bay on November 5, 2013.

The street value of the drugs seized is $308,080.00.

Careless Use of Firearm contrary to section 86(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada – 2 counts.
