In the early morning hours of the 17th of August 2013 approximately $30,000 dollars worth of high end tools were stolen from a vehicle in the south end of Barrie. On the 4th of September, 2013, two men were arrested and a search warrant was subsequently executed at a south end Barrie residence by the Barrie Police Property Crime Unit. As a result of the investigation, approximately $15,000 worth of the stolen tools were recovered. Also recovered was a Barrie Police coat and forage cap stolen several weeks earlier.
As a result of the investigation, a 20 year old Barrie man and a 19 year old Barrie man were charged with Possession of Stolen Property Over $5000 as well as possession of the stolen uniform. A third 19 year old male is still outstanding.
