3 Vehicle Collision – Drunk Driver Charged

(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON) – Members of the Haldimand County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a 3 vehicle motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway # 6 and Haldimand Road # 66 at approximately 11:50 p.m. on 1 September 2015.

OPP investigators attended along with Haldimand County Emergency Services and found that a Chevrolet pick-up truck had struck a parked road construction crash truck then was struck by a Honda Civic.

As a result of the collision the passenger of the Chevrolet pick-up truck a 44-year-old male from Six Nations of the Grand River First Nation was transported to local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the crash truck and the Honda civic were not injured.

As a result of the investigation, the driver of the Chevrolet pick-up truck 47-year-old John SIBBICK of Brantford was arrested and charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code of Canada:

Driver exceed 80 mg blood alcohol content while operating a motor vehicle causing bodily harm Section 255(2.1)

Driving while ability impaired causing bodily harm sec 255(2)

He will appear in the Haldimand County Ontario Court of Justice at a later date to answer to the charges.
