On October 18, 2013 at 7:00 pm, Barrie Police Service received several 911 calls to the intersection of Bayfield Street and Glenwood Drive regarding a motor vehicle collision involving 3 vehicles. It appears that a vehicle traveling north bound on Bayfield Street turning onto Glenwood Drive was struck by a south bound vehicle.
One person received minor injuries and the driver of the north bound vehicle was transported to Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre for treatment.
The driver a 40 year of female from Barrie was subsequently arrested for impaired driving. She provided two breath samples which were three times the legal limit.
Her driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and now faces a November court date.
On a side note… The male passenger in her vehicle had fled after the collision before police arrived; he was later arrested at her residence a short distance away from the scene. He was on a probation order not to communicate with the female from a prior domestic offence.
The 42 year old from Barrie has been charged with breaching his probation order.
