(MUNICIPALITY OF GREY HIGHLANDS, ON) – On April 22, 2017 at approximately 10:51 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of two suspicious males outside a residence on Grey Rd. 4 in the Municipality of Grey Highlands.
Upon arrival, police located an intoxicated male attempting to hide behind rocks and trees east of the driveway. Further investigation revealed that the victim’s vehicle and residence had been entered. Further investigation revealed that the male was wanted by Grey County OPP for sexual assault and mischief under $5,000. offences.
Curtis Frederick WHITTEN, age 26, of the Municipality of Grey Highlands, was arrested and charged with Break, Enter a Dwelling House with Intent to Commit Indictable offence. WHITTEN was also wanted by Grey County OPP for sexual assault and mischief under $5000. A bail hearing was scheduled on April 24. His next court appearance is May 18, 2017.
The second male suspect, a 16-year old youth, of the Township of Southgate, was located and arrested at a residence nearby. He was released unconditionally, pending further investigation.
The investigation continues with the assistance of the Grey County OPP Crime Unit.
