Did you know that approximately 25% of children in grades four to six have been bullied.
There are many forms of bullying:
Verbal (name-calling, sarcasm, teasing, spreading rumours, threatening)
Social (excluding others from a group, humiliating others with public gestures)
Physical (hitting, shoving, chasing, unwanted sexual touching)
Cyber (using the internet or text messaging to intimidate, spread rumours or make fun of someone)
This summer, while the kids are home, why not take the time to talk about bullying. Bullying is wrong and can leave a child with long-term physical and psychological consequences. The Chatham-Kent Police Service urges everyone to get involved. Together we can make a difference. Stand up and Stop Bullying !!
