(THE BLUE MOUNTAINS, ON) Officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged a male boater after he was observed ‘beaching’ his vessel in The Blue Mountains.
On the 1st of August 2015 shortly after 4:00pm, OPP officers on general patrols observed a vessel coming to shore at Northwinds Beach and subsequently ‘beaching’ itself on the sandy swimming area, which was busy with people both in the water and on shore.
As a result of his actions, a 24 year-old from Richmond Hill was handed a $615 fine under the Canada Shipping Act for operating a vessel in an unsafe manner.
