(RENFREW, ON) – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a serious assault in McNab Braeside Township early Friday, January 1, 2016. One male was later taken into custody and is facing several charges including attempted murder.
Officers attended a home at 4:27am on Gillies Street just outside the Town of Arnprior after receiving information that several people were injured by a male with an edged weapon. When officers and paramedics arrived they located three injured people, two males and one female. One male suffered a serious wound and was transported by paramedics to hospital. The other two victims suffered minor injuries. The suspect had fled the scene prior to police arrival.
At 3:15pm the same day the male suspect was located and arrested at a residence in Arnprior. Kory ROBILLARD-DELAHUNT 23 of Arnprior is charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, and four counts of uttering threats. He was held in custody for a bail hearing on Monday January 4. Detective Constable Wendy Saunders is leading the investigation.
