(CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) – On March 19, 2016 at approximately 7:55 p.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated the male driver of a 2015 Volkswagon for a Highway Traffic Act violation on Highway 6 just north of Fergus, Centre Wellington Township.
The driver verbally identified himself to the officer and advised that he was the registered owner of the motor vehicle. Further investigation revealed that the driver was currently under suspension from driving.
While speaking with the male driver, police located and seized a bag containing suspected bud marihuana. He was arrested and released at the scene with court documents
22-year-old Jacob WATSON of Fergus has been charged with Possession of Marihuana Under 30 Grams contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, Drive While Under Suspension and Speeding contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He is to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on April 8, 2016 to answer to the charges.
