(COLLINGWOOD, ON) Officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged a male motorist after a report of a collision at the town line on Mountain Road.
On January 28 2017 at approximately 9:40pm officers were called to attend for a two vehicle collision at Grey Road 21 and Mountain Road where one driver fled the scene to a nearby residence. Investigation revealed that a vehicle stopped at the red light was rear ended; both drivers exited their vehicles to survey the damage and decided to pull off the roadway to a parking lot however the driver at fault drove off where he was located at a residence nearby.
Charged is 22 year-old Stefan ZDERIC of Georgian Bluffs, he is charged with a Highway Traffic Act offence of Fail to Remain as well as a Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act offence of Operate a Motor Vehicle Without Insurance. He is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood on March 17 2017. No one was injured in the collision.
