(MUNICIPALITY OF MEAFORD, ON) – On July 9, 2016 at approximately 2:49 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a vehicle on Hwy. 26 near Grey Rd. 112 in the Municipality of Meaford, after it registered a speed of 134 km/h in an 80 km/hr zone.
The driver of the vehicle, a 2007 BMW, was found to have been drinking alcohol. After failing a roadside breath test, the driver was arrested for impaired driving and transported to the OPP Detachment for further breath tests, which he failed.
21-year old Courtney Augustus WHITE of Toronto, Ontario was charged with driving a motor vehicle with over 80 mgs of alcohol in his system. He was also issued a Summons for racing a motor vehicle – excessive speed and being a novice driver with a blood alcohol content (B.A.C.) above zero under the Highway Traffic Act.
A court date of July 28, 2016 has been scheduled in Owen Sound.
