(WINDSOR, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police in Essex County, Ontario has charged the driver of the vehicle that struck a pedestrian who was killed on Highway 401 near its intersection with the Lambton Street/Grand Marais Road West overpass at approximately 10:40 p.m. on December 6, 2016.
Shortly following the release of the photo to the media of a black Jeep Cherokee believed to be involved in the collision, a man contacted police and attended the Essex County OPP Detachment to be interviewed.
21 year old Gianluca ROVERE (M) of Lasalle, Ontario has been charged with the following offences contrary to the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario:
