21 Year Old Car Thief Tries To Outrun Police

On January 6th 2016, at approximately 2:00am, OPP Officers were on routine patrol at the intersection of County Road 19 and Chemong Road in the Township of Selwyn when they observed a motor vehicle being driven in an erratic manner. When officers attempted to stop the suspect vehicle, the driver refused to stop and accelerated into the City of Peterborough. The driver of the motor vehicle pulled into a plaza parking lot on Chemong Road and unsuccessfully attempted to flee on foot. A subsequent investigation revealed the motor vehicle to have been stolen from the City of Peterborough earlier in the evening.

Charged is Jesse Moore, 21 years of age of Peterborough. He is scheduled to appear at Peterborough Provincial Court on January 6th, 2016 for a Bail Hearing.

Charge 2: CC 253(1)(a) Driving While Ability Impaired – motor vehicle (Drug)

Charge 3: CC 254(5) Fail or Refuse to Provide Sample 254(3) (Drugs)

Charge 4: CC 733.1(1) Fail to Comply with Probation Order (3 counts)

Charge 5: CC 355(a) Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000

Charge 6: CC 90 Carrying concealed weapon (pocket knife)

Charge 7: CDSA 4(1) Poss of a Schedule I Substance – Heroin

Charge 8: CC 354(1)(a) Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – in Canada

Charge 9: CC 259(4) Driving while Disqualified – Provincial Suspension etc.

Charge 10: CC 249(1)(a) Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle
