(WASAGA BEACH, ON.) – On May 18th, 2015 at approximately 4:30 p.m., members of the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to an incident on Beach Drive.
An initial investigation by OPP revealed a male at this scene was in breach of several of his recognizances from previous interactions with Police. When Huronia West OPP members attempted to arrest this male, he resisted and at one stage escaped custody but was apprehended after a short foot chase. When Police placed this male into the rear of a cruiser he spat mucus at and hitting two Officers and stated he was going to “kill” one of them. This male continued to spat mucus throughout the rear of this cruiser causing a possible health hazard requiring this unit to be properly cleaned. Upon arrival at the Huronia West OPP Detachment this male was found to be in possession of a quantity of Cocaine.
Charged with two counts of “Assault a Peace Officer”, five counts of “Fail to Comply with Recognizance”, “Resist Arrest”, “Escape Lawful Custody”, “Mischief – Under $5000”, “Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm” and “Possession Schedule I Substance – Cocaine” is Daniel Z. WASILEWICZ 20 years old from St. Catharines, Ontario. First appearance is May 26th, 2015 in Collingwood court.
