(PETAWAWA, ON) – The Upper Ottawa Valley Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle collision just after 2pm on August 12, 2016 on Highway 17 between Doran Road and Black Bay Road. A westbound tractor trailer left the roadway and struck guardrails before coming to rest in the eastbound ditch of Highway 17. No injuries were reported. The 20 year old driver, Manpreet SINGH of Cornwall, was charged with Careless Driving under the Highway Traffic Act. Highway 17 between Doran Rd and Black Bay Rd was closed for several hours while heavy tow truck operators removed the tractor trailer from the ditch.
