(TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) – On October 28, 2017 at approximately 4:30 p.m., a Wellington County OPP officer was monitoring traffic on County 21 just west of County 7, Township of Centre Wellington. The officer observed a male driving a black Dodge travelling at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at 152 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.
The driver of the Dodge continued on County 21 and failed to negotiate a turn onto County 7. He struck a light standard causing significant damage to his vehicle.
20-year-old Joshua LLOYD of Elora has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle, Operate a Motor Vehicle without Insurance and Careless Driving. He will appear in Guelph Provincial Court on December 20, 2017. His driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
