(MUNICIPALITY OF GREY HIGHLANDS, ON) – On August 21, 2016 at approximately 10:18 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP attended a residence on Concession 8A in the Municipality of Grey Highlands in response to a report of an injured child.
The victim and her family had been driven to the residence on Concession 8A in a Chevrolet passenger van and had exited the vehicle. The child was struck by the moving vehicle as it was leaving the property.
Grey County Emergency Services and the Grey Highlands Fire Department attended the scene where CPR was initiated. The victim was transported to hospital where she was pronounced deceased by the attending physician.
The deceased has been identified as 20 month-old Heidi BAUMAN of Wellesley, Ontario.
The driver of the van was a 61-year old female from Moorefield, Ontario.
Grey County OPP, with the assistance of the OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators, continue to investigate however no charges are expected.
