Occurrence Type: Impaired by Drug

On Sunday at approximately 6:30pm, police responded to a two car accident at the intersection of Mapleview Drive West and Barrie View Drive. Upon arrival the officers discovered one of the drivers a 34 year old Barrie male displaying signs of impairment. The male was arrested for care/control of a motor vehicle while impaired by drug. He was taken to the station where he was assessed by a drug recognition expert and later charged with the impaired. Fortunately there were no injuries sustained in the accident to either involved parties. The accused was later released on a promise to appear.
