Owen Sound man facing criminal charges after giving false name to police.
At approximately 4:00 pm, Owen Sound Police were called to investigate two people trespassing on an abandoned property located between the Health Unit and the Bayshore Community Centre. Police located a man and woman on the property. The man proceeded to give a false name to police in order to avoid a ticket under the Trespass to Property Act. As soon as the 19 year old Owen Sound man gave the name, he fled on foot leaving his female friend behind. Police later learned the proper identity of the man and located him steps away from his house. He was arrested and charged criminally with Obstructing Police, Personation and an offence under the Trespass to Property Act. He must now attend court in early July to answer to these charges. The 19 year old woman was issued a ticket for an offence under the Trespass to Property Act.
