On November 1st, 2016 at 4:25 a.m., Waterloo Regional Police were called to a collision at Columbia Street West and Hagey Boulevard in Waterloo. A 19-year-old male driver struck a cab and left the scene. He then hit a pole and median before coming to a stop on Columbia Street West. The driver was treated for minor injuries. He has been charged with multiple offences, including impaired driving, over 80 blood alcohol, dangerous driving and failing to remain at the scene of an accident. Columbia Street West was closed for several hours as police investigated.
