(TOWNSHIP OF GEORGIAN BLUFFS, ON) – On September 11, 2016 at approximately 7:34 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of an erratic driver, possibly impaired, operating a vehicle northbound on Hwy. 6 & 10 near Chatsworth. Information was received that the vehicle was swerving into on-coming traffic, tailgating and slamming on the brakes.
Police stopped the suspect vehicle, a 2006 Cadillac CTS, on Hwy. 6 & 10 just south of Owen Sound, and found that the driver had been drinking alcohol. He was arrested and transported to the Chatsworth OPP Detachment for breath tests which he failed.
19-year old Cornelius BERGEN of the Township of Southgate was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle, having a blood/alcohol level of over 80 milligrams, and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. The vehicle was carrying a 15-year old female passenger at the time.
He is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on October 6, 2016.
