(BLUEWATER, ON) – A driver that trespassed into a wind turbine site is facing a lot more than a trespassing charge after he was stopped and arrested by police this past weekend. At 11:30 p.m. on April 1, 2016 Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers received a call from the wind turbine security company after they spotted a suspicious vehicle at a tower site.
A Huron County OPP officer arrived at the turbine site located just off of Danceland Road to find the suspect vehicle, a Volkswagen Jetta stuck in heavy mud. Upon speaking with the young driver the officer noted the driver had consumed some alcohol. A roadside screening test was completed and the driver registered a fail.
He was placed under arrest and upon searching the male officers found him in possession of a small quantity of marihuana. He was subsequently transported to the Grand Bend OPP Detachment where he provided two samples of his breath to a qualified Intoxilizer Technician; both of his tests registered over the legal limit.
As a result, Andrew MIKLOVIC, 19 years of age from Bluewater has been charged with Care & Control of a Motor Vehicle – Over 80 Milligrams, Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance (Cannabis Marihuana), Care & Control of a Motor Vehicle with Liquor Readily Available and Enter Premises When Entry Prohibited. He has been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for May 1, 2016 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Exeter.
