(GODERICH, ON) – A young driver from Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh has been charged with Racing following a traffic stop that took place on April 12, 2017. At approximately 12:12 a.m. a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer observed a Toyota Celica travelling northbound on Cove Road at a high rate of speed.
The officer confirmed his observations with a RADAR device and was able to obtain a speed measurement of the Celica at a speed in excess of 60km/h over the posted 30 km/h zone. A traffic stop was initiated and the driver was subsequently charged.
Devon SJAARDA, 19 years of age, from Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle – Excessive Speed”. He has a court appearance scheduled for May 23
