19 Year Old Caught Going Almost 100 Over Speed Limit – Name Released

(WEST PERTH, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Perth County detachment have laid another stunt driving charge following a traffic stop on September 1, 2018.

The motorist was located on Perth Line 34 in the Municipality of West Perth, shortly after 2:30 a.m. The vehicle was observed to be travelling almost one hundred kilometres above the posted speed limit when it was stopped by police.

Nineteen-year-old Ben STOLK of the Township of Perth East was charged with:

Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle;

Race a motor vehicle-excessive speed;

No muffler-motor vehicle; and

Operate unsafe vehicle.

The vehicle was towed and impounded and a driver’s licence suspension has been imposed.

The driver is scheduled to appear in court at a later date to speak to the charges.

Stunt driving will not be tolerated. This irresponsible behaviour poses an unnecessary risk to everyone on or near the road way. Perth County OPP are reminding all motorists to be aware of their surroundings at all times and to respect the rules of the road.
