19 Year Old Arrested In Stolen SUV After Hitting Police Vehicle

(ADELAIDE METCALFE, ON) – On June 7, 2016, the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were alerted to a theft of a motor vehicle, which occurred in Lambton County, Ontario.

A suspect vehicle involved in the incident, a red Honda sport utility vehicle (SUV), was observed travelling eastbound on Highway 402. Shortly after 4:00 a.m., it exited at the Centre Road off ramp, where it came to a stop due to traffic congestion in the area.

The Honda struck a responding police vehicle, which sustained minor damage. There was no damage to the Honda, and no injury to the officer.

The lone female occupant, a 19-year-old from London, Ontario, was arrested, and transported by ambulance to hospital for medical assessment. Charges are pending.

The Highway 402 eastbound off ramp at Centre Road is open, but police remain on the scene. As a result, travel in area is slow, and motorists are encouraged to find alternative routes.
