(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – A traffic stop in Clinton last week resulted in a teenager from Lambton County facing a number of charges.
Shortly before midnight on March 31, 2017 a blue Volvo entered into a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) checkpoint that was located on Mill Street near Beech Street. While speaking with the driver the investigating officer observed drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle, additionally the smell of freshly burnt marihuana was detected. These factors led the officer to search the motor vehicle, whereupon a quantity of marihuana was seized.
Further investigation revealed the driver was currently serving a probation sentence and was bound by several conditions. The driver was ultimately placed under arrest and charged.
19-year-old Spencer GOSSET from Plympton-Wyoming has been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marihuana) and five counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order. He was released from custody with an upcoming court appearance scheduled for May 15, 2017 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
