19 Year Old Arrested After Vehicle Thefts And Collisions

(DRUMMOND NORTH ELMSLEY TOWNSHIP, ON) –Officers from the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a Lanark Highlands man following a motor vehicle collision investigation.

At 07:03am on Saturday August 27 2016, OPP were called to a vehicle in the ditch at Drummond 10 A and Township Boundary Road, Drummond North Elmsley Township.

The Suzuki car was abandoned and had serious damage.

Investigation revealed that the owner was of the vehicle was unaware that it had been stolen.

While the investigation was still ongoing OPP received another call reporting a vehicle stolen from an address on Township Boundary Road. The second vehicle was located by officers. It also was abandoned and had serious damage.

Diligent investigation by the officers led to Harry HUTCHINSON aged 19 years being charged:

Two (2) Counts. Theft Over $5,000 of a Motor Vehicle.

One (1) Count. Fail to Comply with the Conditions of an Undertaking.

All charges are contrary to The Criminal Code of Canada.

HUTCHINSON was held pending a Bail Hearing.
