19 and 22 Year Old Try To Evade Police With Stolen Vehcile

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested two men in connection with a stolen vehicle investigation.

As previously reported, on Monday, a Blenheim man reported that unknown suspect(s) stole his silver Toyota Corolla from a parking lot on Marlborough Street.

Just before 2:00 a.m. this morning, an officer on general patrol observed the vehicle travelling north on Mull Road then west on Sinclair Line. The officer activated his emergency lights and sirens in an attempt to initiate a traffic stop. The driver refused to stop and sped away in an attempt to evade the officer.

The vehicle was later located abandoned on Cameron Street. Officers flooded the area and the men were located in the area of Hall Street and Church Street.

A 19-year-old man and 22-year-old man, both from Blenheim, were charged with possession of property obtained by a crime over $5000, failing to stop for police and dangerous driving. The men have been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
