(Cavan Monaghan Township, ON) – Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting radar patrol on Highway 115 early Saturday morning. At 4:24am an officer clocked a southbound vehicle at 143km/h. When the officer attempted to catch up to the car, it accelerated to 182km/h. It took more than 9km for the officer to catch up to the fleeing car.
Brandon Colicchio (age 22) of Ajax, ON is charged with stunt driving, his licence suspended for 7 days and will appear in court on March 09, 2015. The accused’s 2003 Hyundai Tiburon was towed from the scene and impounded.
