(SOUTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers including members from the Huron OPP Street Crimes Unit are investigating the theft of a piece of specialized heavy construction equipment that is used for redoing roofs.
On August 3, 2017 Huron OPP was contacted by Smith Peat Roofing about the theft. Police learned the theft took place a few weeks earlier sometime through the night on July 18th. Those responsible for the theft attended the business located on Thames Road West in Exeter. Once on the property they located and stole a 500 gallon Spar Marathon pumper kettle.
The stolen pumper kettle is valued at close to $18,000.
