(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Norfolk County detachment is investigating the theft of fuel from a Morgan Lane, Charlotteville, Norfolk County, Ontario address.
On Thursday, April 6, 2017 at approximately 9:46 a.m., police were contacted by a concerned resident reporting a theft.
Through the course of investigation, it was determined that between Thursday, March 30, 2017 and Sunday, April 2, 2017, unknowns attended the address and proceeded to remove of a large quantity of diesel fuel from a storage tank that was located on the property.
Businesses and farms with large fuel storage tanks should make sure pumps and the access to the storage tanks are secured with heavy duty locks. If the location is isolated and un-supervised for long periods of time, consider installing lights and security cameras.
