(LAMBTON, ON) – On Saturday August 6th, 2016 at approximately 4:30 a.m., the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was requested to attend a location on Lasalle Line, Brooke-Alvinston Township by Lambton Emergency Medical Services (EMS) in relation to a male party found lying on the roadway.
Lambton OPP along with Lambton EMS and the Alvinston Fire Department responded to the 8500 block of Lasalle Line where emergency responders located an unconscious 18 year old male party lying on the roadway. The victim was immediately transported to hospital by EMS with serious life threatening injuries.
The 18 year old victim has been identified as Mitchell Jack ROPS of Brooke-Alvinston Township. The victims’ condition has since been upgraded and is expected to recover from injuries sustained.
Lasalle Line between White Pine Road and Hardy Creek Road was closed for several hours while investigators were on scene. The Lambton OPP Crime Unit, OPP Forensic Identification Unit and OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators were dispatched to the location to assist with the investigation.
Upon conclusion of this investigation, 47 year old Michael SANDERS of Adelaide-Metcalfe Township was arrested and charged with
Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing Bodily Harm
The accused will appear in the Sarnia Ontario Court of Justice on Monday October 3rd, 2016.
