(Bancroft, ON) – On 12 November 2016, officers from the Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were conducting traffic enforcement in the Town of Bancroft when they observed a dirt bike on Hastings Street North. The motor vehicle failed to stop at a red light and failed to stop for police once officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop. Short while later officers located the driver of the motor vehicle and placed him under arrest.
As a result of their investigation, officers have charged Jerod DECARLE-BRADSHAW, 18 years of age from Hastings Highlands with:
Driving with over 80mgs Alcohol in 100mls of Blood contrary to section 253(1)(b) Criminal Code of Canada (CCC),
Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle contrary to section 249(1)(a) CCC,
Fail to stop for police contrary to section 216 Highway Traffic Act (HTA),
Red light, fail to stop contrary to section 144(18) HTA,
Fail to signal for turn contrary to section 142(1) HTA,
Drive motor vehicle, no plates contrary to section 7(1)(b) HTA and,
Operate motor vehicle without insurance contrary to section 2(1)(a) Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.
The accused was released on a promise to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bancroft on 13 of December, 2016.
