18 Year Drunk Driver Old Doing Power U-Turns Ends Up In Ditch

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) – On Sunday October 25, 2015 shortly before 7 p.m. Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were dispatched to Road 116 between Line 80 and Line 83 (North of Millbank), where a car was stuck in a ditch.

Upon arrival at the scene officers observed a Dodge Charger in the West ditch. From evidence and information obtained at the scene it was ascertained that the vehicle had been doing power U-turns prior to entering the ditch. While speaking to the male driver of the vehicle a determination was made that the driver was impaired by alcohol. The driver was transported to the Perth County OPP Detachment in Listowel where he failed two Intoxilyzer breath tests.

18-year-old Jacob BERG of Linwood has been charged with the following Criminal Code of Canada offences:

– Driving while ability impaired by alcohol

– Driving with more than 80mgs of alcohol in 100 ml of blood

The accused was released on a Promise to Appear and has a court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on November 09, 2015, where he will have to answer to the charges.

His driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and his motor vehicle has been impounded for a period of seven days.
