17 Year Old Female Charged In Marijuana Bust – If It Was Legal She Would Be A Tax-Paying Entrepreneur Instead Of A Criminal

(CITY OF TEMISKAMING SHORES, ON) – On February 10, 2016 the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB), North Bay Drug Unit supported by OPP Temiskaming Shores Detachment, executed a Search Warrant at a residence in New Liskeard.

As a result of this investigation one youth and two adults have been arrested. Police seized over 15 pounds of cannabis marihuana, and a large sum of currency. The estimated street value of the drugs is $70,240.

A 17 year-old female, of Town of Cobalt is charged with:

Possession of Cannabis Marihuana for the Purpose of Trafficking – sec. 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)

She has been released on a Promise to Appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Haileybury on April 12, 2016.

Steven LARSON, 24, of Town of Cobalt is charged with:

Possession of Cannabis Marihuana for the Purpose of Trafficking – sec. 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)

Fail to Comply with Probation Order – sec. 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code (CC)

He has been released on a Promise to Appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Haileybury on March 22, 2016.

Shane VENDENHOOGEN, 20, of New Liskeard is charged with:

Possession of Cannabis Marihuana for the Purpose of Trafficking – sec. 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) (3 counts)

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime – sec. 355(a) of the Criminal Code (CC)

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime – sec. 355(b) of the Criminal Code (CC)

He has been released on a Promise to Appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Haileybury on March 22, 2016.
