(Mono,ON) – On December 1, 2014,at 9:00 pm an officer from the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting speed enforcement in the Town of Mono. The officer observed a 2008 VW Golf travelling Northbound on Highway 10 at Dufferin County Rd #10 at a high rate of speed and determined that the driver was operating the vehicle at 137 km/hr. in a 80 km/hr. zone.
As a result of the traffic stop, 17 year old male of Orangeville,Ontario was charged with Race a Motor Vehicle.
The vehicle was impounded for seven days as a result of the stunt driving charge.
The driver is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville at a later date.
