$163,000 Drug Bust

THREE CHARGED WITH DRUG RELATED OFFENCES

(Bancroft, Ontario) – On Tuesday the 30th of July 2013, officers from the Bancroft detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the report of a suspicious vehicle in the Robinson Lake Road area in Limerick Township. Officers attended the area and arrested three adult males for possession of marihuana.

A further investigation was conducted with the assistance of the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB), OPP Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU), OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and OPP Canine Unit in a bush area. 163 marihuana plants were located and seized. The street value of the drugs seized is approximately $163,000.

29 year old Narayanpillai ASKOK of Waterloo, Ontario was arrested and has been charged with possession of marihuana for the purpose of trafficking and production of marihuana. He was released from custody on a promise to appear with conditions and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville, Ontario on the 19th of September 2013.
