16 Year Old Student Arrested – Assault With Weapon, Threats

(PEMBROKE, ON) – On the afternoon of September 27, 2016 the Upper Ottawa Valley Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to Fellowes High School in the City of Pembroke regarding an incident that took place at the school after dismissal at approximately 3pm on September 26, 2016. School staff reported that a physical altercation took place involving three students, one of whom brandished an edged weapon and made threats to another student. The involved parties were not injured.

As a result, on September 27, 2016, a 16 year old male youth from Pembroke was arrested and is facing the following charges under the Criminal Code:

Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose

Uttering Threats

Assault with a Weapon

The youth was also charged with Breach of Probation under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA). The youth was held for a bail hearing on September 28 and remains in custody until his next appearance at the Ontario Youth Court of Justice in Pembroke on October 4, 2016.
