(TAY TOWNSHIP, On) On January 28, 2015 at 9:35pm, officers from the Southern Georgian Bay OPP Detachment were dispatched to the area of McKenzie Crescent in Victoria Harbour. The officers found a 16 year-old male party suffering from apparent stab wounds.
The 16 year-old male was transported by Simcoe County Paramedics to Georgian Bay General Hospital where he was later airlifted by Ornge to a Toronto area hospital for further treatment of his injuries. The male is listed in stable condition at this time.
Attending investigators have arrested a 17 year-old male who is facing charges of attempt murder and aggravated assault. The youth is being held in custody pending a bail hearing later today in Barrie Court.
Detectives from the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment Crime Unit continue to investigate this incident under the direction of Detective Staff Sergeant Andy Raffay of Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB).
Motorists may encounter some traffic congestion on Jephson Street as officers continue their investigation.
Further details will be provided as they become available although the names of the involved persons will not be released as they will be protected by the provisions of Youth Criminal Justice Act.
