16 Year Old Mugged At Gunpoint

(ORILLIA, ON.)- The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a male youth in relation to an altercation involving a pellet gun.

On April 13, 2015 at approximately 2:15 p.m., Orillia OPP was contacted in relation to an altercation at the rear of a building on West Street North in the City of Orillia. Officers attended the location and spoke with the 16 year old male victim who advised that he had been involved in an altercation with another 16 year old male. The victim advised that the accused male pointed a black gun at him and asked him for all of his money.

The victim advised that the accused fired the gun at which point the victim realized it was a pellet gun. A physical altercation took place and the accused ran from the scene with a small amount of cash. The accused was known to the victim and advised police of his identity. The youth was arrested a short time later.

A 16 year old male from Orillia has been charged with the following offences:

Robbery with a Weapon

Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose

Assault with a Weapon

Carrying a Concealed Weapon

Pointing a Firearm

Fail to Comply with a Disposition X 3

He was held in custody pending a bail hearing in youth court.
